Dear Friends,
Today has been a tough day. Yesterday, was the nine year anniversary of my dad's final journey, and a year ago this very day, my mom went to be with my dad.
For some time, I have dreamed of having one of our beloved Sara and Ann's (SaraR and winglion's) quilts. A few months ago, when looking at their web site, I realized that although their full-sized quilts were beyond the reach of my finances, I could afford a Petite Pootie Pad. I emailed Sara and asked if they would make one filled with lavender rather than catnip, so I could use it as a lap quilt. Sara and Ann decided I needed a full-sized lap quilt, so they appealed to this amazing community and you made it happen. I was and remain in awe.
Sara let me know that the quilt was in the mail, but I didn't know how it would take, going 3,000 miles and over an international border.
This morning I awoke with a heavy heart, missing my mom and dad with every fibre of my being. When I walked downstairs, there was a box sitting on the dining room table which my roommate had retrieved when it was deliver this morning. Inside was the most glorious quilt ! It's surrounded by Celtic interlacement, a reminder of my medieval side, with a large block of book fabric, a reminder of the treasures which are my passion and my undoing, and it is filled with lavender, a reminder of many hours spent at the Pacific National Exhibition with Mom, where there was a lavender vendor who we always patronized.

This quilt is a work of artistry and quality. I will treasure it, and all of you, forever. Anyone wanting a quilt for a beloved family member or friend, or a pootie or woozle family member, I wholeheartedly urge you to check out this link: http://www.dailykos.com/... , and talk with Sara or Ann.
Mom sent me a Christmas present, and Sara and Ann, and you, each and every one of you, helped to make it happen. You are my Christmas Angels. My heart is full to overflowing. Thank you, one and all for helping to make this happen. I will never forget this day.
I love you, Mom ! I love you, Dad ! I miss you both. I am thankful you are happy and together again.
