Hi there! I haven't even been able to log into dailykos for a few weeks, but I've lurked and read nearly every diary, because I love this community and share diaries on my Facebook wall all the time.
Indeed, Operation Hilarity caught my attention, and prompted me to log in for the first time in weeks.
My question for Markos is direct: Can we make Operation Hilarity a "thought experiment" and then move on? Can we focus our energies on more progressive activities? More constructively?
Can we consider Operation Hilarity something that we considered doing... but abandoned in favor of doing more constructive things, taking the higher ground... like fundraising for Barack Obama, or posting more and better diaries? My time is limited, and so is everyone else's, so let's take our precious minutes and put them into positive actions.
We don't like when Republicans "game" the system and act all innocent... and I believe the main point of Operation Hilarity has been effectively made! Well done, sincerely so. Now let's set an example -- we had an idea, it was hilarious. Now let's move on and do good work for our country. Let's demonstrate what it's like to be grownups.
And if for no other reason, watch your karma playing tricks on your opponents, when you hope your ideas will be strong enough to make your case.
Namaste,
Don't Tase Me Bro
PS: The reasons I haven't been able to log in -- I've been busy with an exciting new life, a new husband (yes, I have teh gay), moved to a new city, and trying to create a patchwork of jobs to cover rent and expenses for us and our daughters (well, they are kittens, but they are like daughters to us).
