I am not a Christian
I believe God so loved ALL of his children whether or not they believe in HIM that he sent his only begotten son to wash us from all our sins.
I am not a Christian
I believe that Jesus would want us to take care of those who cannot care for themselves; to be the voice for those who are voiceless.
I am not a Christian
I believe in feeding the hungry, quenching the thirst of the thirsty and clothing the naked for whatever I do for the least among us, I am doing it for Christ (Matthew 25:35-40)
I am not a Christian
I believe that humanity is good and mankind would help strangers like the good Samaritan did
I am not a Christian
I "try" to live my life how I "think" God would want me to live.
I am not a Christian because according to Franklin Graham:
I was born Catholic and did not in my adult life accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior
I believe that everyone has a right to believe in whatever they want to believe; to practice whatever religion they want to practice if it brings them comfort and help them get through the day and treat their fellow man a little better.
I believe that I do not have the right to impose my views and to pass judgement on others; unless I want them to pass judgement on me.
I believe that a woman and only that woman has a right to say what is right for herself. She has a right to control her fertility.
I believe a person can love whomever they please regardless of gender.
I believe in the value of human life regardless of past sins that is why I don't believe in the death penalty.
See, it does not matter how close I follow the word of God. It does not matter how closely I tried to align my deeds to the words of Jesus, I am not a Christian because I do not try to IMPOSE my beliefs on others. I don't outwardly wear my Christianity on my sleeve and stand in the middle of the temple for all to see. I am kneeling at the back of the church because I don't think I am worthy.
Franklin Graham cannot definitely say that Mr. Obama is a Christian because he does not live the Christian life (how he knows, I don't know); he has grandparents that were Muslims so there are some doubt. President Obama is not declaring war on Muslims countries to defend the persecutions of Christians there. President Obama shows respect for other faiths so he cannot be a Christian. He only joined a church because he had to.
President Obama who has done more to be respectful and inclusive of all faiths is not a Christian; however, Rick Santorum is because his beliefs are more aligned to what Mr. Graham believe is the righteous way.
If being a Christian means I have to believe what Rick Santorum believe in, then no I am not a Christian. And my family wonders why I stopped going to church.
UPDATE: This rant came about because of an interview this morning on Morning Joe by Franklin Graham where he says only Barack Obama knows if he is a Christian. He also said, more importantly that he should have the right to discriminate and not have the government interfere.
