The catholics want religious privilege. But privilege will not move an audience so well as claims of a war against religion or a threat to religious liberty. Health insurance is not a ministry of religion. Secular charities are not (at least should not be) religious ministies and should not be used to proselytize. Hospitals are not religious ministries. The fake reproductive health facilities that religions run are not (at least should not be) religious ministries and should not be used to proselytize. The HHS rule exempts facilities that actually provide ministerial services. That exemption is sufficient to preserve religious liberty. The rule does not force any person to use contraceptives against their moral conscience. This rule does not create a war against religion. This rule is not a threat to religious freedom.
The privilege that catholics want will deprive many people of the liberty to use contraceptives and cause some hardship to others as they seek contraceptives somewhere beyond the grasp of religion.
Catholics work very hard to make reproductive decisions for females. They decide, for females, that females will not use contraceptives or choose abortion. The result, of these imposed decisions is more children. First, by making children of all females by making decisions for them, and second, by increasing the rate at which children are born. Why does a corporate religion want more children? For the same reason as any corporation; more customers. For the religion, life long customers giving a steady revenue stream.
This universe, created by the god so touted by corporate religion, has given each and every one of us the power of decision and the exclusive use of the body which we operate. The catholic corporation wants to deny the inalienable rights, given to females, by the very god so touted.
If I would use the body of a female, without first obtaining her permission, that use is called rape. When a religion business, by force of dogma and or by force of law, uses the body of a female, without her permission, to maintain or increase a revenue stream; it is called righteous.
Catholic and other corporate religions want to deprive females of the right to abort. Yet, contraceptives prevent conception and prevent abortion.
The religion business is fighting against contraceptives which prevent the abortions that the business wants to prevent. This counter intuitive, self defeating effort by religion businesses has to be explained. The zealous outcry from the religion businesses indicates that high stakes are seen in this struggle for religious privilege. When we combine no contraception with no abortion, we get more children.
Why are more children so important to a religion business?
