Another MENSA primary tonight... Will it be Newt's final hoorah? Nah...not as long as Mr. Adelson keeps writing the checks! ;D
Let's get historical for past March 13ths. On this date in 1781, the planet Uranus was discovered by Sir William Herschel. Insert juvenile adolescent joke here! :D Actor William H. Macy turns 62 years old today. I LOVED him in Mystery Men! :D
On with The Rachel Maddow Show...
"Y'All or Nothing" - So, does "y'all or nothing" apply to Newtie? Well, if he does drop out, he'll have more time for Tiffanys trips! He's doing rather craptacular to this point tonight. The white evangelical vote in MENSA primaries is higher this year than in 2008. Well, Barack Obama wasn't POTUS yet then. Man, even if I did ever want to visit MS or AL (which I DO NOT), they'd sniff me out as a "non - believer" quick & burn me in a pot of grits or something! Mittens hasn't been able to connect with white evangelicals to this point in the process. Mittens has, of course, spent oodles of coin in both those states. Mittens isn't even in either state that's holding primaries tonight. Newt & Man on Dog will be speaking. Has Newt shut the spark up since his last speech?! Man on Dog wants Newt to exit the primaries stage extreme right. Again, Newt insists he's not going anywhere regardless of tonight's results. MS & AL are still considered too close to call. Newt's surging in AL?! Steve Schmidt & Jon Harwood get primary duty. Mr. Steve doesn't see any viable path for Newt if he loses either Southern state tonight. Well, Mr. Steve's not been crazy about Newt since day 1. Mr. Harwood thinks the pressure on Newt will increase from voters and donors for him to get out if he loses tonight. AGAIN, as long as the Adelson checks keep coming & don't bounce, Newt ain't going anywhere; his ego won't allow it. Steve thinks Man on Dog will keep going even if he loses tonight. Mr. Harwood thinks the white evangelicals (which include tea baggers) are even more motivated to vote this year because of the general upswing in bat$hitty since 2008. Plus, again, as I said above, Barack Obama was just candidate Obama - not President Obama. Steve put forth a scenario where MENSA voters would be voting more against President Obama than for the MENSA candidate in the general election. I agree.
"Thinning the Heard" - There is a new odious voter ID law in effect in MS tonight; thousands of its citizens (namely African - Americans) do not have the required photo ID but apparently were not asked to produce one today because it hasn't been implemented yet! Wow! And, again, wow on the fact that 97% of the MENSA voters in MS were white. Ya' know...MS...the Mississippi Burning state where 3 civil rights workers were murdered because they were trying to help African - Americans vote. Isn't MS one of those states where the DOJ has to approve any new voter law?! MS's African - American population is around 40%. The MS lawmakers want the new rules to be in effect in time for the GENERAL election. Well, of course they do! The DOJ hasn't cleared the new TX voter ID law. Thousands & thousands of TX citizens could be blocked from voting. The "free ID" in TX ain't free afterall. SC is suing the DOJ to get their voter ID law reinstated. These voter ID laws aren't just southern ilk; it's GOBP ilk - like in WI. Over 200K WI residents would be blocked from voting. Crowds gathered in WI again this past weekend - with way more better weather! :) Rev. Al Sharpton's in studio to talk voting rights. He was in AL this past weekend. Voting laws are being changed for a problem that basically doesn't exist - namely actual voter fraud. TX offered no evidence of actual voter fraud & didn't submit information concerning the percentage of African - Americans or Asians who would be affected by the new law. Again, the license to carry a gun in TX is an OK form of ID, but a college ID from a student isn't. Yep, y'all can see what the priorities in TX are!! *&^%$#@!
"Project Much?" - We're not even halfway done with MENSA primaries?! $HIT!! My fair state got another shout - out for the ACTUAL voter fraud! Again, we could see a Newt - Governor Secession ticket...like Newt's gonna get the damn nomination. Folk in SC wanted a Newt - Froth ticket! There will not be a Mittens - Froth ticket, though, at least according to Mittens on FAUX News last night. He actually mentioned PP last night; Mittens was at a PP fundraiser back in 1994. So, are there ANY ISSUES Mittens hasn't flipped & flopped on???!!! He's running to the right of Man on Dog on the issue of abortion rights. Eugene Robinson gets baby (or no baby) duty tonight. GOBP turnout will probably be low in MS & AL like in previous MENSA primaries with the exception of SC. White evangelicals seem to like negative ads or something, too, which I guess makes sense because it seems they're pi$$ed off A LOT. Eugene's pretty gobsmacked at Mittens' claim he's to the right of Man on Dog on the abortion issue. And, Eugene gets extra kudos & enlightenment for mentioning Zen koans tonight! :D
AL MENSA voters like their froth! AL is a pro - froth state! :D Man on Dog's on top in AL! He's raised his leg toward Mittens & Newtie! :D So, what's gonna happen to Newt now?
