I really don't know why. There's no sun up in the sky. Stormy weather.
I mean, come on Chris Hayes and guests, come on!
Why can't we be adults, be realistic. Accept the root of our problems, investigate it, talk about it and deal with it? Isn't that what rational adults are supposed to be able to do? Isn't that what a Democracy is supposed to be able to do?
If only the media could help instead of perpetuate this system. But who pulls the strings of media wants all this non-rational, occasionally rational, but never ending talk about politics to continue FORever. There's been progress but I'd like to see a whole lot more in my lifetime and I don't know why I can't! But I'm weary all the time. Stormy weather.
Our. System. Our. Politics. Is. Corrupt. Period. It's Money.
All I do is pray the Lord above will let me walk in the sun once more.
Can't go on, eve'ry thing I had is gone
Stormy weather.....Keeps rainin' all the time.
Stormy weather
Since my job* and I ain't together,
Keeps rainin' all the time
Life is bare, gloom and mis'ry everwhere
Stormy weather
Just can't get my poorself together,
I'm weary all the time
So weary all the time
lyrics
It fits my mood when I hear, for God's sake, even on Up with Chris (Chris Hayes weekend show on msnbc), smart people talking about politics as if the problems with our discourse and government and politics is due to people disagreeing, refusing to compromise, blah de blah blah.
Don't get me wrong, I adore Chris Hayes and love his show which is perhaps the most adult news show around. His just stands out for its brilliance. Others do devote time and attention to the basic problem of money corruption, namely a number on msnbc including Rachel Maddow, Ed, Laurence, Rev. Al, Dylan Rattigan and several others whom we appreciate.
But why? Why, people? Why can't we accept once and for all, without equivocation, without forgetting, without backsliding, that the source of our problems is money and its corrupting influence on our whole political system and thus our government and our discourse? Yes, I know, asking people to act rationally is pie in the sky. But I love pie.
Why must you talk and talk about politics as usual and act as if the corruption/money problem is not the MAIN problem, the ROOT problem?
You. Never. Heard. The. Word. Corruption. Ever. Mentioned. Until. Very. Recently.
Why don't we all just accept this truth and work to change it?
Don't we all know this in our gut, in our soul, in our fiber?
Can our brains not handle this or is money keeping it from going to its logical conclusion.**
Let's not talk about it now and then, then brush it under the table and forget about it, going back to political blah blah blah talk.
God, it's tiresome. I'm weary all the time from hearing it, guys.
If we don't, if we establish some truth, then shrink from it and go backwards to ignoring the facts, then we can't get anywhere.
There are signs of course. Many more signs than a year ago that people are waking up to this. Whole lots more than four or five years ago. There IS progress.
Corruption. In our government. Our system is built on it.
You. Never. Heard. The. Word. Corruption. Ever. Mentioned. Until. Very. Recently.
But if we all accepted this fact then we could see:
sun up in the sky
Is this position unrealistic?
Is it not possible to get the money out of politics by making the kind of changes that are much talked about in some circles? And if you answer yes, it is possible, would that not mean that we could deal with problems and issues of contention with considerably more blunt (pardon the word) reality, working together?
Yes, I know, asking people to act rationally is pie in the sky. But I love pie.
*changed one word, sue me.
**How come we never hear about the "logical conclusion" anymore? What ever happened to valuing logic?
