I had the rare respite of a sick day today ... wooh! lucky me.
I was able to catch a particularly awesome speech by the President today, so that was cool. Even wrote about it between bouts of sneezing ...
finally fighting against income inequality is becoming topical, and relevant again, yeah! ... as even Mitt is taking the opposite course. this should make for an interesting campaign. if not a pivotal one.
Then there was the tornado in texas ... which bigfooted the coverage and commentary of that stem-winder of a speech ...
cable news has become like moth to a flame ... oooh flame pretty, can we fly those cameras a little closer, please ...
after watching the wall-to-wall breathless coverage of more extreme weather for hours, without a single mention of the concept of Climate Change ... I started channel surfing.
Sorry, but one more panning shot of the all those "tractor trailer trucks tossed like toys -- can you believe it !?" ... was about to make me scream ...
Then I arrived at a science channel (nat-geo, I think) that had this fact-filled study about how rapidly the ice is changing its ways at the south pole ...
back from a time when "Science wasn't a shady word ..."
needless to say I was riveted ... hopefully you might be too.
And if not oh well, there's always the wall-to-wall live feeds to follow ...

When what scientists said was important ... something to be heeded.
i miss those days ... pretending like science doesn't matter, seems royally dumb.
