I think I may have made an interesting discovery. I was, for some strange reason I cannot explain, just browsing around Mitt Romney's website. I guess I wanted to see how he was framing his positions. And I went to his page on foreign policy and noticed this photo of him. And immediately, I thought, "Did they photoshop Mitt Romney a perky little nose?" It sure looks like it to me. Here's the photo:
Does this look like Mitt Romney to you? Notice how his nose has a slight ski-jump curve, and take a good look at the angle under the nose. It turns up a bit. Now compare that to all these other profiles I grabbed off the web:
To me, all these other photos look pretty much the same, but nothing like the one on his website.
I understand performing a few touchups -- getting rid of some blemishes, smoothing out the skin tone a bit, just for the sake of correcting some of the flaws a camera can reveal that you might not otherwise notice in person.
But this is beyond that. I think they actually gave their candidate a new face. The symbolism does not escape me.
What do you think? Am I seeing things?
