"Back in high school, I did some dumb things and if anybody was hurt by that or offended, obviously I apologize for that,” Mr. Romney told Brian Kilmeade, a radio host. Mr. Romney added, “I participated in a lot of high jinks and pranks during high school and some might have gone too far and for that, I apologize.”
Worse, Mittens is apparently such a grade-A lout, he
says he doesn't even recall this incident (one wonders if it was because there were so many others):
“I don’t remember that incident. I certainly don’t believe that I thought the fellow was homosexual,” Mr. Romney said. “That was the furthest thing from our minds back in the 1960s, so that was not the case.”
Compare that to another's recollection of the Lauber incident:
“It happened very quickly, and to this day it troubles me,” said Thomas Buford, the school’s wrestling champion, who said he joined Romney in restraining Lauber. Buford subsequently apologized to Lauber, who was “terrified,” he said. “What a senseless, stupid, idiotic thing to do.”
Well at least some folks had a conscience at Cranbrook.
But back to these "pranks". Remember the last time such callousness was blown off as "pranks"?
