Novel news out of the Senate race in Massachusetts: Scott Brown indicated that he is African-American in 1990s.
When applying to Boston College Law School in the 1980s, Mr. Brown checked off the African-American box on the application. According to new research, his great-great-great grandfather is black, so he is 1/32 African-American.
The Brown campaign sent out statements Monday from people who had key admission roles at Boston College Law School and attesting that his heritage did not play a role in her hiring.
Scott responded in this fashion:
“I am proud of my family,’’ he told reporters after a tour of Salem State University. “I am proud of my heritage, and that’s what I’ve said all along.’’
“I am who I am,’’ he added. “and that’s all I can do. I think you’ve talked to the people who admitted me and I think they have said as clearly as humanly possible that I got what I got because of the work I’ve done.’’
Elizabeth Warren had this to say on the controversy: "The only thing I’ve said is these are legitimate questions. The question is whether and how she used a minority status to gain or not gain access to admission. And only he and Boston College can answer any of these questions.’’

PS- I hope people get this as a joke! I hope Elizabeth Warren wins, but this makes it harder.
