Check out this article from Politico, which says Mitt "I Don't Want to Set My Hair on Fire" Romney is holding fundraisers in London during the Olympics and then again in Israel. It's here. http://www.politico.com/....
At any rate, correct me if I'm wrong - but didn't the Republicans haul into President Clinton when he supposedly got contributions from people in China? Didn't some bundler of his go to jail for this? I'm hopeful some more legally educated Kossacks will give me the skinny on current election law. I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to get campaign contributions in foreign countries, though.
And - of course - there's this: Mitt and the GOP seem to think that President Obama is in over his head - due to his "European" world view. I want you to imagine what would happen if President Obama was fundraising outside the US. What do you imagine we would hear from McConnell, Boehner, Cantor and HRH Romney?
But then - again - this is where we cannot fail as Democrats. The message that Mitt Romney is out-of-touch, that his finances are somewhat suspect, that he cares more about his car elevator and his off shore bank accounts than our economic future is not only true - but it's clearly working. So now, what if that fundraising is illegal? Unless it isn't, and the Democrats are doing it too (and I'm sure we would have heard about it as an attack ad if we were), this is another item to put into the TV spots:
Illegal or not - how absolutely un-American, Mitt... just plain un-American!
