In the wake of the Obama campaign's latest devastating ad 'Firms' slamming Romney's offshoring, tax havening butt in which Mitt sings a tortured rendition of America the Beautiful, the Romney campaign has fired their response salvo.
It features quotes by David Brooks and Mark Halperin attesting to the negativity of the Obama campaigns tactics.
It's negative, it's negative!
Yeah. That really landed a punch - two talking heads going on about their Beltway insider baloney. As if these two have any standing outside of a very small circle of DC insiders; that's sure to change a few voters' minds.
But what is likely to get them into some hot water is that this ad first appeared on Face the Nation this morning, which Bob Schieffer was hosting. Bob Schieffer, unbeknownst to him, is also quoted in the ad. He first became aware that he appears in the ad as he watched it during the commercial break of his own show.
He seems pretty upset about it.
CBS News correspondent Bob Schieffer was caught off guard Sunday when he made an instant cameo in a Romney campaign commercial airing during his own program.
In the commercial, Schieffer -- who hosts CBS' "Face the Nation" -- was shown questioning Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod over a barrage of negative ads, especially attacks on presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and Bain Capital.
Schieffer opened a later segment saying he was "shocked" by the ad and distancing himself from it.
The Romney campaign is usually punked by Obama. This time it seems like they did it to themselves. This looks to have all the impact of a blow with a wet noodle (on Obama - no telling the damage it'll do to Romney). It seems we've seen the best the Romney campaign has to offer.
