I just posted in the the front page diary the link but thought others might want to stay abreast of what's going on, especially as Isaac seems to have stalled over New Orleans and there's area's now getting much more water, flooding, then would be expected.
Had this on yesterday afternoon and evening and have had it on most of this morning, real good way to keep abreast and especially if you know folks in that area!
Drop below:
This is a real good Live Stream directly from NOLA that runs without commercials but does break off every once in awhile, sometimes they do it for several minutes then it comes right back on other times the buffering takes it down and you need to refresh, but has been staying up for long periods either way.
The storm has Stalled, they give weather updates as well as talking to First Responders or reporters, via phones most of the time, in the different parishes as well as taking calls from some residents.
A couple of the callers are saying they're flooded out and in their attics with holes cut waiting on when rescues can be made. Most say they stayed because it was a Cat 1 and they didn't have problems, flooding etc., during Katrina, so they thought, wrong, this one wouldn't be as bad.
But the rain that came with and the stalling are doing allot of damage not expected!
They also reported a short time ago that they've been getting reports about a number of barges that are now only tied up with one rope and could break at anytime. One barge was reported to have broken it's ties last night and crashed into a number of boats sinking a couple.
The pictures they're getting tell the story along with their reporting.
