Tribe President Cyril Scott says in a statement obtained by the Associated Press that the Rosebud Sioux's bid on nearly 2,000 acres of pristine prairie grass was accepted
by the land's owners.
The decision was reportedly reached yesterday but I haven't seen a diary reporting it.
Today the news will be focused on the events of eleven years ago. I will be not be available for comments until later. And there are those much more qualified to describe the importance of this. The price is high -$9 million due by Nov. 9 -for land illegally taken from the current buyers, but this is good news and I wanted to share it for all of those who have supported the tribes and followed this issue.
