Back in the 70s, somebody--Lampoon, I'm pretty sure--did a sendup of Gary Trudeau, a faux Doonesbury strip of four identical panels, Mike and Mark facing each other. In the first, Mike says, "I've discovered the secret to cartooning." "What's that?" asks Mark. In the last panel, Mike responds, "The Xerox machine."
As Citizens United secret money shifts down-ballot away from the wreck of the Edmund Fitzwillard, ad watchers will note that the same can be said of superPAC productions.
This is my first cookie cutter ad. The idea offends my sensibilities as an artisinal political adster.
Still, the deeply cynical, partisan move of voting down the Veterans' Jobs Corps bill, then adjourning to go campaign for re-election, was so ugly, so crass, so quintessentially modern Republican, I wanted to say something about the men who voted against it.
Only four 'Pub senators up for re-elect were among those who voted against the bill, so I didn't have to cut too many cookies. They're all in safely red states, too, so I doubt if their votes will sink 'em.
But, lord, if there were justice in this world. . .

Hi, Senator Corker. . .

No, I didn't forget John Barrasso. I'll be cooking his up later. I'll post the whole set (Collect 'Em All!) on Monday. Feel free to share with friends, family, blogs and groups in the gentlemen's states.
