I see a lot of whining and teeth gnashing here about the "deal" that the White House/Senate Dems and the Repubs have come to. I don't see much discussion of what to do about it.
And that's pretty much par for the course here at dKos. We whine and moan and pull our hair, and then when there's an election, we hold our noses and send our cash and pull the lever for these sacks of shit that call themselves democrats.
I'll keep this short, if not sweet, because I'm tired and am sucking down a generous portion of store-bought eggnog mixed with cheap white rum.
If you are a democrat, and you vote for this "deal", you will not get one red cent from me.
I gave money this year - not a lot, but more than I could really afford, to candidates way way outside my state. Candidates around the nation. Because I believe in what the Democratic party (supposedly) stands for.
This "deal" ain't it. This is, to be blunt, bullshit. Obama has been, since 2008, the most disappointing and disillusioning political figure of my lifetime. I remember Reagan, and Bush 1, and Bush 2 - but at least I KNEW those guys were assholes. Obama talks such a good game, I keep falling for it. Even Clinton didn't disappoint me as much as Obama, and that's saying something.
We say we want more and BETTER democrats here at dkos. Well, sometimes those are mutually exclusive. We like to point fingers and laugh at the tea baggers because they've lost a couple of elections floating whackjob candidates. Well, joke's on us - the tea party lost a few elections and shifted their ENTIRE party to the right. Way to the right. In the space of 4 years.
So I'm taking a page from their book. I'll gladly lose a couple of elections, for ANY office - even POTUS - if we get rid of these spineless corporate-whore moderates, these milquetoast "democrats" and their fucking laughable incompetence.
Vote for this bill you fuckers, and you won't get one red cent from me.
Happy New Year.
