Challenger for the chair of the MDP, Lon Johnson, recently upon being ask a question, when speaking in Oakland County, about his not voting in 2010 responded with
"he was living in D.C. at the time and wasn't 100% sure of his voting residency status, so took a pass rather than risk voting at the wrong location."
Check blow the infinity symbol thing for my take on this.
This raises some serious issues with his bid for chairmanship of the MDP, to me. A recent blog comment over on MichiganLiberal.com i tihnking brings up some good points
"1. If his suppose to be the head of the party, shouldn't he have some clue of what his voting status is? seriously this is like a doctor wanting to practice medical without having gone to medical school.
2. If he suppose to energize the party as chair, how can he do that when he can't even get himself fired up? his answer just betrays him as lazy, do we really want a lazy chair?
We had a serious drought in 2010 of people voting, how can we take serious someone who, not only was part of the problem that year, but then blows of the question like it doesn't matter?" by warhawkgundam
Am starting to rethinking any support for this guy, this plus him voicing that he just wants to be a figurehead, while at the same time ask for a 80k raise, to 160k, over the current Chair Mark Brewer. Not even to mention that he by his own omission is already planning on running for office again in a few years. Has me wondering why his trying for a job that he doesn't want, beside for the title on his resume, and doesn't even want to put the effort in need to rebuild the Michigan democratic Party
