The components used to assemble the following Curiosity images of Mt. Sharp on Mars were from last year, but the results of the new processing are stunning.
In other news, though it was released a bit ago, the Inspiration Mars Foundation of Dennis Tito planning the 2018 human flyby of Mars released this animation of both the flight trajectory and what the crew would see as they approach the Red Planet (the second part begins at 0:24 - it is much, much faster than how the crew would see it, occurring over many hours):

9:53 PM PT: When people ask what there is on Mars that's worth settling there, I can't help thinking back to Yoda's words to Luke: "Only what you take with you." Some interpret that as a reason to not go anywhere or do anything, but I interpret that as a reason to go everywhere and do everything.
