11:30 AM CST UPDATE:
One student was arrested on suspicion of placing a prank 911 call leading to this chaos.
New Prague Middle School- New Prague Minnesota - about 45 miles South of Minneapolis.
The original call came in this morning to 911 reporting a person with an AK-47 who had injured 2 people in the school. Upon trace back the phone came as an unregistered deactivated cell phone still with 911 capability.
Squad cars from all around rural Scott County raced to the school with guns drawn.
The school went into immediate lockdown under "code red".
Again, school staff have said all students are accounted for. Police have searched most of the main school areas.
Reports are students will be let home for the day. Buses are arriving to pick students up.
This incident occurs the morning after the DFL controlled Minnesota State House Public Safety Committee failed to advance a universal background check bill, leaving the bill virtually impotent.
