Well! The auction moved past what most of us were able to bid on the first bidding diary!
Some groups have emerged and currently, one of them holds the high bid $6360.00
We didn't expect that! But this is the Daily Kos Community, anything can happen!
Here is just one of the many hundreds of reasons for Okiciyap.
We do have a very hot challenge however. If we can get donations in the name of the Quilt Matching Fundraisers group up to $9000, we have a donor that will add $500 toward the pantry and another $500 to the Pantry's Youth Library! Whew!
As I write this, we need to have $2640 more to be donated to get that last $1000, and only a few hours left to accomplish that goal.
Unless someone beats the bid from Quilt Matching Fundraisers, this quilt will honor Georgia Little Shield.
nomandates wants me to remind everyone:
One trip to the big food bank in Pierre SD to restock the shelves in the Okiciyap Pantry is accomplished when 2 people take their trucks and a horse trailer on an all day excursion. Purchasing the food and fueling the trucks costs in the neighborhood of $1400-$1600. Okiciyap Pantry goes once per month, and then has a "pantry day" where everything is distributed to the community.
So, now, if you don't have $6370 to make a new high bid, you can still help us get that $1000 challenge met.
There are many ways to donate, and you can tell us what you are doing in a comment or privately, you can PM one of us to make your amount know, without publicity.
This is the new Donate button we found for the Pantry. WePay replaces our little ChipIn, who was retired when his company was purchased by another.
This is the link to the Okiciyap website, where PayPal is also available.

There are some ways to help the pantry which are both convenient and ongoing;
The WePay widget will allow recurring donations on a schedule you set.
The IGive button will allow retailers to donate a % of your sales with them to the pantry, they collect and bundle the small amounts into a larger donation several times a year. There is no expense to you and there are over 1000 online retailers who participate. My personal experience is that it is invisible and easy.

Please, help us reach that magic number that will trigger a $1000 donation?
