The sad details of Mega-Evangelist Rick Warren's son's suicide has taken a sudden political turn. Here are the facts:
Pastor Rick Warren said his son killed himself with an unregistered gun he purchased through the Internet.
Warren sent a tweet Thursday saying he forgives whoever sold the weapon to his 27-year-old son Matthew, who committed suicide last Friday.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department is trying to find the seller but it won't be easy. The gun's serial number was scratched off, making it impossible to trace, spokesman Jim Amormino said.
"We can't tell if it's registered or not because the serial number is scratched off," he said. "At one point in time, it may have been, but it's going to be impossible to find out."
It's illegal in California to buy a gun without a background check and purchasers are supposed to register their firearms. Defacing a gun's serial number is a federal offense.
Now, let's juxtapose this with the ignorance coming from my lame Senator Marco Rubio:
Marco Rubio – a new senator, but already looking past Florida, thinking of running for President. And that has Rubio running to the right – opposing a bill on comprehensive background checks. Rubio would let criminals and the dangerously mentally ill get guns without a background check.
Even worse, Rubio has said he would filibuster the vote in Washington – so the Senate won't even be able to vote on background checks.

I can't wait to see if the millions of evangelicals who adore Rick Warren will turn their wrath on a system that allows the internet sale of guns to a completely mentally ill American.
This is an example of a sad scenario that cons are fighting so hard to protect.
Those who participated in the gun filibuster are a national disgrace. Those who vote against the background checks are even worse.
