Sadly, as we learned yesterday, too many of our elected representatives share a bed with the N.R.A. And, apparently, they all find the bed very comfortable. Unfortunately, a lot of Americans pay for that comfort in blood; day after day after day.
Senators who voted against common sense gun control need to be told that their vote was shameful.

The vote is expected this afternoon. Click here to send an email to your senators now.
]
After three months of negotiations, a bipartisan bill has been drafted that would require criminal and mental health background checks for anyone purchasing a firearm at a gun show or on the internet.
Frustratingly, the Senate is having trouble rounding up 60 votes for this bill. At the latest count, there were 54 senators in favor, 6 senators undecided, and 40 senators opposed.
We are just shy of the votes we need, but we can still get over the top. Click here to email your senators telling them to vote for expanded background checks.

Addendum for April 10, 2013
This daily carnage will never end unless we take a stand. And if ever there was a day to take a stand, it’s today. That’s because the U. S. Senate is taking up the gun-control issue this week. If we miss this opportunity, another one might never again come along. And the carnage will go on and on and on.
So Washington needs to hear from us -- today. If we don’t speak out, they will only hear the voices of the N.R.A.
