When will they ever learn:
Haas was immediately removed as manager of a program meant to prevent sexual harassment and assault and encourage equal opportunity.
This one doesn't seem to have blossomed fully into the ongoing narrative of the military's persistent problems with sexual assault and inappropriate exercise of power and authority. As Col. Haas was due to retire soon, it will be interesting to see if anything aside from an expedited retirement results from this.
One thing I don't hear very often in the discussion of these stories is about how this pervasive culture in the military affects our nation's relations with the rest of the world. It's a lot quicker to count the countries that do not have a US military presence that the ones that do. Arrogance & abuse don't much win hearts and minds, do not foster friendships.
