So we finally got a high school graduate in the family and not a GED receipent. Beth walks to get her diploma Wednesday night here in Citrus County. We barely got the cap and gown because of the funerals and her hospitalizations, we were not sure she would graduate. She passed all her grades and finals and got her credits. No invitations were sent..but oh well.
The little one who just turned 8 got put into the Reach program and doing 5th grade work in the 2nd grade. A meeting with two psychologists claimed she was top of Florida students with a very high IQ.
My 44 year old son decided to go back to school and get this..study law. He is applying for grants and he wants to go on and run for congress. No pipe dreams.. He heard back for Florida State today but the tuition is waaaaaaaaay too high. He is trying to kickstart his carpet cleaning business and go to school as well. His goal is to pass the bar by 51.
I was ready to throw up my hands earlier on the whole bunch this year but life has changed since Daddy's passing. It is like people woke up and said, " It is too short".
My daddy must be smiling somewhere in the heavens because nothing would please him more than all of this ambition and achievement.
Congrats to our kids who just decided to kickstart their whole lives.......
My son cashed in a small life insurance policy to get the carpet machine fixed, and my daughter is happy she is graduating. We may be broke but we are not poor.
If I could not share with my Kossack friends, then who? I just had to bring my friends my joy today. It is not a big deal to a lot of folks but to us..it is a HUGE deal...
