Legal analysts yesterday opined on what kind of day it was for the prosecution and defense in the Zimmerman case. Here's some snippets from analysts in local stations covering the trial:
WFTV analyst: "Now we have the evidence of record before this jury that Zimmerman has put forth, by his narrative statements to these law enforcement officers, his theory that he had to use deadly force when Travyon Martin went for his gun," Sheaffer said. "There are no witnesses to refute that."
...
CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin agreed that it was very good for Zimmerman's defense. "He basically gets to tell his story in a narrative way with no cross examination, which is essentially the dream of every criminal defendant," Toobin said.
...
WOFL legal analyst Diana Tennis said. Chris Serino, lead detective for the Sanford police on the case, was putting his seal of approval on Zimmerman and justifying the defendant's interactions
...
WKMG's Luis Calderon: "Zimmerman's story was consistent throughout, and Singleton (witness for the state) saw no significant inconsistencies, Calderon added."
...
WOFL analyst Debbie Ferwerda: "Singleton was very likable and basically said that the discrepancies in Zimmerman's different statements were minor,"
WESH-Channel 2's Bob Kealing reported that the state, through the recorded interviews, was able "to chip away at Zimmerman's notion, at his claim, that he had to shoot Trayvon Martin in self-defense to save his own life." But Serino testified that he didn't see a lot of inconsistencies in Zimmerman's statements, Kealing added.

Two analysts from WESH seemed to have seen a better day for the prosecution (near the bottom of the page). However, opinion was overwhelmingly in favor of the defense, in contradiction to what we see in certain internet websites.
