As we await a jury decision in the George Zimmerman Case, I am curious to know why other compounding charges where not included regarding the endangerment of a minor.
Many people critical of the Prosecution's case have expressed that there is no law against following anyone.
O.K., let's explore that for a moment. There are no laws against anyone visiting a friend at their home either.
However, Law enforcement routinely executes sting operations where Undercover Officers posing as minors, invite men to meet them at their home.
Soon after the subject arrives, the subject is handcuffed and booked on "Conspiracy to commit a lude act with a minor, all without there actually having been any physical contact between the subject and the would be minor, who technically was actually an addult.
So now to compare....
If it is possible for a person who actively seeks to make contact with a minor with "Sex on the brain" can be charged with "Conspiracy" to commit a crime....
Then ought a 28 year old man, who seeks to make contact with a minor, with a loaded gun in tow, also be subject to some sort of "Conspiracy" to commit harm to a minor as well?
And….. if Zimmerman was actively engaged in endangering a minor then everything that followed, including Trayvon Martin striking back to protect himself, was completely a result of Zimmerman’s wrong doing, and he should have no grounds for Self Defense.
