Some people say that
I've spent the last week or so getting madder and madder at a whole lotta folks on the left. I agree with a lot of these people on a lot of issues and I've voted for and donated to a lot of the same politicians. All that said, the majority of Kossacks are wrong right now, and a decent slice are arguing in bad faith, out of ignorance, wishful thinking, or outright stupidity! . . . You guys are acting like kids in a whole lotta threads.
Some people say that is civil substantive discourse. (To be sure I don't really care about the "civil" though the site has adopted a DBAD policy, but the substance does matter to me.) I respectfully demur.

All that being said, there are strong arguments against a military strike. I'm not blind to the complexities of the composition of the Syrian rebels, nor the question of what happens after Assad. This diary is not meant to ignore these concerns, nor to change minds on those terms.
And yet it is an exercise in ignoring those concerns (and many others). And it certainly will not change minds on these points as it utterly fails to address these concerns.

Please engage this issue while tethered to reality and the actual records of the players involved.
Yes, let's do that. Let's start with addressing actual arguments with actual substance.
Instead of nutpicking.
