The day was beautiful and balmy, the conversation was sparkling, and the food ever so delicious. Gordon20024 drove up from Roanoke and Diana in NoVa could have almost walked over to Liz Dexic's. VaCommonsense and his lovely wife, Nancy (our local chanteuse), drove over from the area near Fairfax Hospital, and MNGlasnant was close by in Herndon, too. The Ashburn contingent consisted of Jamie G from Md, her spouse, STI, and gmfbard.
Food was plentiful, and pictures of the comestibles were totally forgotten in just the sheer pleasure of lively conversation on an assortment of topics. Gordon20024 brought a beautiful vase of roses to set off our table.
We dined on baked spaghetti, an incredible green salad, potato salad, cheese rolls, assorted pickles, olives, and beets, chips, salsa, and mini home-made pizzas with zesty spices. Coffee, an assortment of teas, sodas (or pop, depending on your geographic upbringing) and delicious wine were the beverages available. Desserts were plentiful - red velvet cake, brownies, lemon squares, carrot cake, more brownies - and luckily no one was diabetic! Next time we need a volunteer for photography, as clearly it wasn't foremost in our minds.
Right now there are no plans to meet in February as I mentioned previously in the first diary, as JamieG from MD has some scheduling conflicts later in the month.
A couple of pictures were taken, and sadly, it reveals that my photo application on my phone has seen better days. I was able to get one -- and I apologize for the quality.
