The Republicans may be trying to de-rail our democracy, but the play
Rails is back on track with a six-city tour starting in Philadelphia and ending in New Orleans in November. Kossacks living near one of these cities might enjoy taking a break from politics and enjoy some theater!
Yes, this is a shameless plug for my daughter's play. She is a fellow Kossack and author of a diary that made the Rec list for a day, My Experience As An Unschooler
Here is a link to the Kickstarter, which has a video and good description of the play as well as cities and dates:
Rails--The Back-On-Track-Tour
I am very impressed with the thriftiness and resourcefulness of these young artists. Check out their food budget. And believe me, the original music is excellent. My husband and I saw this play in 2009 for its debut. We are going to see it in New Orleans this time, which I have never visited before. It's going to be at a venue called Siberia, which normally has heavy metal music, so this will be a change for them.
Thanks in advance for any support by attending or giving a couple of bucks. Hopefully they can get their van fixed soon for the trip.
btw, the broom "housewife" is one of my favorite puppets.
Well, actually the bowling pin Mafia guys are funnier:
Thanks again!
