After trying to enroll in healthcare.gov for a week (Tennessee), It's still dysfunctional. Errors, time outs, page down for traffic, page down for upgrade. Registration complete. Registration not complete. Each visit requires answering the same questions over and over again. Many calls with no luck. Operators are clueless.
Today I call and I get this nice lady who tried hard, but isn't getting any worthwhile support, imv.
First, I ask if she, or anyone else, can determine if my application is visible to to them. After an hour on the phone, she gives me the phone number of TennCare-Mediaid. Keep in mind that I didn't select TennCare. In fact I've never got to the point of actually viewing my choices of coverage.
It was surreal, like I was the help desk. She kept asking me for answers. I could tell she was writing down my questions, only to put me on hold while she asked someone else. She looked for an email that they had received, something about passwords not working after the latest upgrade. Clueless.
Evidently, somebody decided I was eligible for state benefits. I told the young lady that I knew of no plan in Tennessee. I know Tennessee decided against expanding medicaid. Anyway, I advised the person that I would call TennCare. But jesus fricking christ, WILL SOMEONE SELL ME A GOD DAMN POLICY?
I call the TennCare number and was told that the only plan for disabled folks was SSI. I don't qualify for SSI. Back to square one. How much longer do they play this charade. It's not getting better. Pull the plug on this mess. Obviously, they never tested it before going live. A fatal error, imv.
I'm going to try again, but this time I will register over the phone. Sebelius blew it.
