Y'know someone, somewhere, probably in my childhood very likely told me not to make fun of people who can't help themselves. People who are disabled or infirm or suffering from dementia, brain damage, cancer, paralysis or some other physical or mental dysfunction should be off-limits to ridicule. Insulting and belittling such a person should be akin to kicking a sick kitten in the stomach.
But there's just no excuse for this woman. None.

This is her response when asked what her Alternative to ObamaCare would be by Matt Lauer on the Today Show.
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/...
"The plan is to allow those things that had been proposed over many years to reform a health-care system in America that certainly does need more help so that there's more competition, there's less tort reform threat, there's less trajectory of the cost increases, and those plans have been proposed over and over again," Palin said.
While Palin struggled to explain what a conservative alternative to Obamacare would look like, she made it clear that she dislikes the Affordable Care Act.
"And what thwarts those plans? It's the far left," she said "It's President Obama and his supporters who will not allow the Republicans to usher in free market, patient-centered, doctor-patient relationship links to reform health care."
There are legitimate complaints you could make about the Affordable Care Act. For example, it's not that affordable for older people who previously had low-premium catastrophic plans which are no longer available for them. It's enabled scheming Insurance Companies like
Humana in Kentucky and
Anthem Blue Cross in California to Scam clients out of their low-cost Grandfathered plans into more expensive ones. The government website that was built by
private contractors doesn't work right yet. Most people who enrolled so far are actually joining Medicaid. It's doesn't have a Medicare-like Public Option (although it does have something else in 31 states that is
Multi-State and Non-Profit, but whether that is making a difference remains to be seen), but seriously...
THIS WOMAN's complaint is that it doesn't have "More Competition"?
This woman's complaint is that it needs "less trajectory of the cost increases"? (This despite the fact that premiums on the exchanges are actually lower than expected which is projected to save another $190 Billion in Federal Spending over 10 Years, because of - you guessed it - "Competition")
This woman doesn't seem to know that the plans she says "have been proposed for years and years" were actually proposed by the Heritage Foundation and included the Individual Mandate.
She complains that Republicans only want to "usher in free market, patient-centered, doctor-patient relationship links" to reform health care and that "Obama and the FAR LEFT" is stopping them?
Umm... That Far Left and Obama Implemented the Republican Plan, rather than their own plans which were Single Payer and/or the Public Option.
This woman's doesn't seem to know that the proposal put forth by the House Republican Conserva-Holes while they were threatening to blow up the World Economy unless we Defunded the Exchanges, Fired the Navigators and Crashed the ACA Website - is nothing more than a big steaming pile of rehashed tax cuts.
http://www.foxnews.com/...
A group of House conservatives introduced legislation Wednesday that members say will replace ObamaCare and its “unworkable” taxes and mandates with a plan that expands tax breaks for Americans who buy their own insurance.
Under the proposal endorsed by the 175-member Republican Study Committee, Americans who purchase coverage through state-run exchanges can claim a $7,500 deduction against their income and payroll taxes, regardless of the cost of the insurance. Families could deduct $20,000.
So basically they return the ability to lock people out due to pre-existing conditions, they would restore the lifetime caps, remove the limit on co-pays & deductibles, re-open the donut hole, they would remove the mandate and the Cadillac-Plan Tax removing downward pressure on premiums while drying up the funding and at the same time they would replace the subsidies (which function as a tax credit that is paid directly to the insurer and lowers your bill immediately) into a tax deduction that
you would have to pay out of your own pocket first and then file to deduct later.
Which means since they cut tax revenues and then increase tax deductions that rather than lowering the deficit as the ACA does - their plan would Increase It the same way that their Medicare Part-D plan did.
How's that for some "Slavery" for ya?
Oh, yeah, and Tort Reform - so that when a doctor whose been working far too many hours hopped-up on off-market uppers removes the wrong kidney by mistake - you're family won't have any legal recourse to help get his ass out of the operating room and into rehab.
Cuz that's "patient-centered", or something.
You betcha.
