First of all, thank you to all who supported me with advice in the diary. Not every bit was germane to my situation, but the support was very comforting.
Quick back-story: Kidlet noticed a feral kitten on her college campus. The kitten was successfully trapped Friday night. I woke up early Saturday with a feral kitten and freaked out a bit.
Update: We took the kitten to the Vet yesterday. Julius WeeBeastie is a 4.5 pound male, about 5 to 6 months old based on his teeth. He is free of feline leukemia and FIV (those may be the same thing - he is free of two scary diseases for cats). He has a cut, so he is on antibiotics, which he seems to be tolerating (we had a cat who was allergic to amoxicillin, which is rare). He has been vaccinated and treated for fleas. He eats a lot! He uses his litter box and buries his poop! The vet suggested letting him settle in for a few weeks, then he can be neutered and micro-chipped.
Best of all: He has started purring!!!
