GAH!!! Stop creeping me out, internet!
(tech noob crybaby rant to follow)
I saw a great link to BoingBoing's Christmas gift ideas list yesterday. Today I followed the link to Betabrand, where I promptly added an awesome pair of Settlers of Catan socks (Called Socks of Catan) to my cart. I was unsure of whether or not I needed multiple pairs of this fantastic item, so I closed the browser and decided to order them later.
I did not log in, or set up an account. I added an item to my cart then exited.
Now it is five hours later, I just checked on my Facebook page and third down in my newsfeed is Betabrand (a suggested post) telling me that I left something in my shopping cart and they'll give it to me for 10% off.
I realize that I am sounding naive to those of you who are more tech-savvy than I; but I do not want Betabrand following me to Facebook begging me to buy their amazing socks. Facebook is for pictures of kids and sharing very important political views.
PS I am also sick of looking at shoes on Amazon and then having them pop up in every other window I visit for the rest of the day.
