Received this e-mail today from Senator Brian Schatz (D. HI) regarding the Employee Non-Discrimination Act:
This is a huge week for equal rights in Hawaii, and across the country.
While the debate on gay marriage continues in Hawaii, my Senate colleagues and I will focus on ending workplace discrimination against our LGBT friends, family, and neighbors by debating the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).
I’ve already pledged my support for this crucial legislation. Will you join me and 17 of my fellow Senators to tell Congress that workplace discrimination is wrong?

Together, we’ve shown momentum -- supporters like you submitted over 7,000 signatures backing equal rights in Hawaii. Now, we have the chance to take our momentum to Congress.
Americans agree that discrimination is wrong – but it still happens in far too many workplaces. More than 17 years ago, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) failed in Congress by a single vote.
We can’t let that happen again. We have the chance to extend basic rights to all workers, including those in the LGBT community.
Every person deserves equal protection. Add your voice in demanding that Congress end workplace discrimination now!

Thanks to committed supporters like you, we will keep working to ensure equal rights for everyone in Hawaii, and across the country!
Mahalo,
Brian Schatz
U.S. Senator
