The Holiday party season is just about upon use. That means, it is time to plan how to get through all of it without wearing yourself completely out. Here is an easy quick party pleaser that you can make from refrigerated crescent rolls, a can of cream of chicken soup, canned chicken chunks and frozen broccoli. It looks very stunning when it is baked and you can impress all your co-workers, friends and family with it.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news! If you would like to write a diary, let us know in a comment.
Chicken Sandwich Party Ring
2 (8 oz,) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
2/3 cup condensed cream of chicken soup
¾ cup of frozen broccoli thawed
½ cup sweet red pepper chopped
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1 can (5 oz.) drained chicken
1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
¼ cup slice black olives
Parsley flakes and sweet paprika for garnish
Preheat oven 375 degrees F. Prepare 12 inch pizza pan by covering it with foil. Let the foil edges hang over the sides at least 4 or 5 inches. Spray the foil with vegetable spay to prevent sticking while working with dough and baking. This makes it easy to layout the ring and after it is baked, the ring can be lifted off the pizza pan to place on serving tray or plate.
Mix condensed soup, broccoli, sweet pepper and onion in a microwave bowl. Just warm the mixture up but not cook it. Set a side. On the prepared pizza pan place crescent triangles with the longest point out in a circle over lapping. Mix drained chicken in soup mixture. Spoon mixture a half inch from the inner edge all the way around. Sprinkle with cheese and black olives. Take points and fold over mixture and tuck under inner edge working around the circle. The some of the filling will be showing. Sprinkle with parsley flakes and paprika. Take the excess foil and either tuck under the pan or cut off at the edge of the pizza pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
Cool the ring enough so the steam doesn’t burn you. Now if you want. you can slid the foil with roll off the pizza pan to serving dish. The foil then can be pulled out from under the roll by lifting the ring up a little with spatula. I just rip the foil in pieces as I work my way around the ring as I pull it out. Garnish the center and serve.
Every time I take this to a cover dish, it is a big hit. You can follow the basic recipe and make it with tuna, ground beef, any cheese and vegetables that you like.
