So far Leaves on the Current is having no problems, even with a ramped up dose of steroids (which she will also have tomorrow - that is the pattern on the day of and the day after chemo). Her spirits are quite positive.
It certainly did not hurt that today several deliveries arrive at our home - flowers from one part of her family, and flowers and an edible arrangement from the choir of St Mark Orthodox Church, where we were married on Dec. 29, 1985, and where she is still when at church a regular member of the choir.
For the next few days we will watch closely to see how she reacts. Without going into details, part of her treatment is once every four weeks, her basic chemo pattern is four treatments over two weeks, then a week off. We have hopes there will be neither nausea nor hair loss, but we will only find that out over time.
She also started a second round of ten radiation treatments. We are hoping that after this round we will only be dealing with chemo. But we shall see.
We have great confidence in her medical team. They are superb, and they make sure to keep us thoroughly informed.
In the meantime, yesterday, after several days of friends visiting, we took a drive through the nearby Virginia countryside and when darkness fell had dinner in a lovely country inn that we greatly enjoy.
Again, we offer thanks to all for their prayers, their kind words, their advice, and their support.
Peace.
