I am hearing you, Mr. President, right now live on TV talking about the sequester and hardship. You claim we are not protecting the military by having this sequester happen. While I agree with you about the "social spending babies" being thrown out with the bathwater (my analogy, not your's), I think you are dead WRONG about complaining of the defense spending cuts.
You are whining, Mr. President, about the military families having hardship from the sequester. EARTH TO PRESIDENT OBAMA: Our military budget is bloated by at least 50%, and we will have to cut a warfare state that is larger than the spending of the rest of the world, combined, at some point. I can't believe you, Mr. President, who represents the opportunity for transformational change, are being a tool of the MIC. YOU, of all people, have the political capital to campaign for a massive reallocation from military spending to domestic nation-building here at home with infrastructure, education, and R&D being at the top of our list of priorities. Or at least, they should be.
I am sick and tired of hearing presidents defending the endless pork of a government ATM machine for the defense contractors and the military. We are a warfare state and imperialists. President Obama is no different that his predecessors with regard to preserving this status quo of being the world's policeman, and it sickens me. Call me a pacifist, if you must, but it does.
I hope it sickens you too.
