Since Ashley Judd declined to run against the Senator for Communist China Mitch McConnell he has yet to draw a big name challenge from the Democratic side. Thus far also, the Kentucky Tea party has whined and bickered but have shown themselves as all talk and no backbone and have failed to produce a primary challenger. So far only two candidates have stepped up to attempt to take this seat back from the Communist Chinese. Louisville musician and music promoter Bennie J. Smith and former Congressional candidate and contractor whom we respect greatly here, Ed Marksberry. That could be changing soon.
Tom FitzGerald, an Environmental lawyer that has long defended consumers and Kentucky's environment has been encouraged to run and is now considering that possibility:
Tom FitzGerald, whose name is synonymous with environmental protection in Kentucky, is considering a possible run for the U.S. Senate next year against Republican incumbent Mitch McConnell.
"This is very preliminary," FitzGerald, a lawyer and director of the Kentucky Resources Council, said Wednesday in a telephone interview. "You've heard of testing the waters. I haven't even taken off my shoes yet."

He stated the obvious, that Mitch McConnell could care less about Kentucky or the Kentuckians that live within and only wants to keep power to enrich himself:
"I've seen the devolution of McConnell as a progressive, modern county judge in Jefferson County to an increasingly right-wing politician who is defined more by protecting power than meeting the needs of Kentuckians," he said.
He is also showing early on that he has something Mitch McConnell is completely devoid of. A sense of morality and ethics:
"I have told the council board what I am considering and I could not stay on as director since this is a non-partisan agency," he said.
It appears he has indeed spent much of his career fighting against power for everyday Kentuckians:
The 58-year-old Louisville resident has been a central figure in Kentucky environmental politics for decades and has an almost constant presence in Frankfort where he lobbies not just on environmental issues but on social justice issues as well.
He has fought against efforts by AT&T to pass legislation that would allow large companies to abandon land lines and he has opposed utility rate increases.

He was seeking a meeting with the candidate the establishment hopes to recruit, Alison Lundergan Grimes and his candidacy could be determined by whether she runs or not.
Whomever does run will face not only the McConnell meat grinder but a new super PAC of like minded souls determined to block progress not only for Kentucky but for America:
A new, independent super PAC is being formed to help U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell in his re-election bid next year.
Kentuckians for Strong Leadership announced Tuesday in an email that it is filing incorporation papers with the Kentucky Secretary of State's office.
"President Obama and his liberal allies know they can't achieve the rest of their big government agenda unless they take out Senator Mitch McConnell, and we will raise and spend whatever it takes to prevent that from happening," said Scott Jennings, the PAC's senior advisor, in a statement.

Hopefully anyone who wants to run will come forward soon. One thing Mitch McConnell will have is a loyal following of selfish or ignorant supporters with deep pockets who will invest in one thing. Keeping McConnell in Washington so that the working people not only in Kentucky but in America will see no improvement in their lives.
