Most of you will not know of Ken Avidor, he was not welcomed properly or treated well here at DK (something I know about all too well). He is an outspoken Democrat who was on a campaign to "Dump Bachmann" long before everybody else. As a matter of fact, his blog was titled "Dump Bachmann". Unfortunately, due to a lawsuit (reported on by TwinCities.com - here) by a Florida Attorney (Larry Klayman) against City Pages also names cartoonist Ken Avidor.
Be that as it may, Avidor and others with him, worked for a decade to bring down Michele Bachmann. Though all of his D's on DK are now deleted, there's still plenty out there in web, blog and internet realms, concerning Ken Avidor's battles against Michele Bachmann and his quest to get Minnesota voters to Dump Bachmann.
We all are, in part, indebted to Avidor and his for helping U.S. DUMP BACKMANN
Here's a link to a DailyBeast article that gives Ken Avidor proper credit as the leader of an Anti-Bachmann Army. In fact that's the title to the story
"Leading the Anti-Bachmann Army"
We owe Ken Avidor and people like him a debt of gratitude, for helping U.S. slay the Bachmann babble dragon, RWNJ beast.
Larry Klayman's lawsuit against City Pages and Avidor
The article "Florida-based lawyer sues City Pages for defamation" stipulates the following issues germane;
Larry Klayman's lawsuit, announced Monday, March 25, said City Pages sought to hurt the attorney in retaliation for Klayman's representation of Bradlee Dean, the controversial anti-gay preacher and founder of an Annandale-based group You Can Run But You Cannot Hide.
As far as I'm concerned, Larry Klayman should let (er- ah) sleeping dogs lay where they are and be thankful that the court, while ruling Klaymn acted in a 'grossly inappropriate manner' - still let him off the hook.
Instead, the Florida counsel Larry, seeks to open up the whole can of worms in order to quash it. When you sue about defamation, you basically are arguing you are perfect; and most people who do such - LOSE! As the issue you wish not to be publicized, winds up getting much more publicity. Per this remark by TwinCities;
The City Pages story, which ran Sept. 28 last year, said an appeals court in Ohio had ordered Klayman to pay his ex-wife $325,000 in attorney's fees, and that the order noted a lower court magistrate had heard evidence of sexual abuse from his children's pediatrician, who reported it to children's services, and from a social worker at that agency.
The story said the social worker's findings were changed to "unsubstantiated," but the magistrate found that Klayman acted in a "grossly inappropriate manner" with one of his children, although his conduct may not have been sexual.
Then the TwinCities article points out that Klayman was help Maricopa Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
While it is well understood that no one of any sound mind and character has any love for Mr. Controversy Arpaio himself, that is not justification for crucifying Klayman who defended himself by stating;
Klayman in a statement Monday said the child abuse allegations emerged from a child custody fight with his ex-wife and were false, dismissed by the Cleveland Department of Children and Families and the Sheriff and District Attorney of Cuyahoga County.
Being that City Pages is owned by Voice Media Group (which also owns the New York Times by the way) - it is highly unlikely that Larry Klayman will prevail. It would be nice to see the issue go to trial. Which would have "discovery" moments and perhaps a deposition or 2 of Klayman.
As is evident by the picture at right (from City Pages - here), Avidor enjoys his work and draws upon a wit the walks easily into the mind with proper thoughts upon the issues at hand. When Avidor was asked to name what inspired him, Ken responded with Mad Magazine, Punk Magazine and Scew Magazine. How apropos is that? If Bachmann had stayed and ran for office again, our country might get Mad for being Punk'd and Screwed. Per the DailyBeast interview of Avidor, he didn't want to make Michele Bachmann a mission; but she gave him and even Republican's in Minnesota no choice. As Avidor reflected;
“I don’t want to blog about her,” says Avidor, who has become the site’s most prolific poster. “I’ve quit three times. She’s not worth of even being considered a possible candidate. But unfortunately, she’s become a more serious joke.”
While we are no longer able to sen Avidor's D's here at DK (they've been deleted for the most part), we can still get tidbits around the web. Including the fact that Avidor co-authored a book on Bachmann titled "The Madness of Michele Bachmann: A Broad-Minded Survey of a Small-Minded Candidate". One of the co-authors is Young - a Republican from MN. The other author is Karl Bremer who also owned a website/blog titled "Ripple in Stillwater". In Bremer/ Ripple's case, the Blog is still up - but sadly Karl is no longer with U.S. It would be good to go to Ripple in Stillwater Blog and delve into the vast research and campaign to dump Bachmann her entire time in office. You can also see more discussion about the book at City Pages Ken Avidor interview ( here).
One commentor on the Ripple in Stillwater Blog stated ( here) a perfect Hollowed Antiquity remark by Thomas Jefferson that is so apropos to the dumping of Bachmann;

Karl, About time I caught up with you. Here is something you can use to add more fuel to the campaign to expose Mrs. Bachmann and her ilk:
This is a long forgotten section of a letter written by Thomas Jefferson, that is etched in limestone on a wall panel in the Jefferson Memorial:
(The words in the panel are slightly abreviated from a letter Jefferson wrote. So much for carving the US Constitution in stone !!)
Panel Four
"I AM NOT AN ADVOCATE FOR FREQUENT CHANGES IN LAWS AND CONSTITUTIONS, BUT LAWS AND INSTITUTIONS MUST GO HAND IN HAND WITH THE PROGRESS OF THE HUMAN MIND. AS THAT BECOMES MORE DEVELOPED, MORE ENLIGHTENED, AS NEW DISCOVERIES ARE MADE, NEW TRUTHS DISCOVERED AND MANNERS AND OPINIONS CHANGE, WITH THE CHANGE OF CIRCUMSTANCES, INSTITUTIONS MUST ADVANCE ALSO TO KEEP PACE WITH THE TIMES. WE MIGHT AS WELL REQUIRE A MAN TO WEAR STILL THE COAT WHICH FITTED HIM WHEN A BOY AS CIVILIZED SOCIETY TO REMAIN EVER UNDER THE REGIMEN OF THEIR BARBAROUS ANCESTORS."

WE OWE THANKS TO KEN AVIDOR for helping U.S. Dump Bachmann
I hope you will join me in the Poll below, thanking Avidor for helping America force Bachmann to give it up. However, before you do, there still is one more thing to thank Avidor about and ask Bachmann of. - Will Michele Bachmann get indicted for bad faith acts? We don't know (and almost never will) - where the DOJ is heading and their reasons why. One thing we do know (thanks to Avidor) - is that Michele Bachmann surrounds herself with crooked people who do crooked things. As a matter of fact, even Michele Bachmann herself, knew (WAY LONG AGO) that she might face the music on doing bad faith deeds. Avidor previously provided me this link of a Star Tribune article quoting Michele Bachmann being very concerned about her legal status and liberty ( see link of 2006 Star Tribune article - here). As noted often by Professor Jonathan Turley - Res ipsa loquitur ("The thing itself speaks") - where Keilbasa eating Bachmann bites her own bone in stating;
"My No. 1 goal is to not go to jail," Bachmann said, chuckling
Wonkete Tells the Larry Klayman case as only Wonkette can
The title to the story is "You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Sues You". It is a Wonkette article that delves deeper into the Klayman case and City Pages litigation in a wryly humorous manner Wonkette'r is miff'd that they were not sued too. So they try (actually very hard) to get some attention to the matter by stating;
If Bradlee was going to sue us, why won’t his terrible lawyer sue us? ---dammit! What are we, not pretty enough to be sued? Not young enough to be sued? Not ultra-leftist enough to be sued? Not malicious enough to be sued? OK, it could never be that last reason, as we are malicious as can be. Especially in this case, we should totally be sued, because we linked to the City Pages’ article about Klayman’s alleged child-touching. It is too boring and complicated to re-explain here, and if we did re-explain here, we wouldn’t get delicious page views to make you go read our old article on it.
Fine. Since you insist, the very short version: Larry Klayman’s wife divorced him, because who wouldn’t, and in the divorce filings there was some allegation that Klayman touched his children. Lucky duckies City Pages AND yr Wonkette both printed an admittedly much too long excerpt from a ruling in the case that basically said that even if he hadn’t touched his children, he still could have behaved inappropriately and also too that he behaved like a creep and kept pleading the Fifth rather than, you know, explaining how he was NOT touching his children. Perhaps we are not getting sued because of our weenie liebrul disclaimer at the end?

Again, thank you Mr. Avidor - I, for one, am going to miss your muckraking!
