Although I have been quiet of late, I do still drop by regularly. For those who don't know me, I've been here since 2005. Showed up right after Halloween, to be exact. Here's a link to my first submission UPDATE: Body hanging from tree mistaken for Halloween decoration. It played to decidedly mixed reviews, but then folks here didn't know how to quite take my writing so it is understandable. Based on that piece alone, it could have gone either way.
Over the years my writing style improved and a fair amount of my stuff has been well received. I've had more than my fair share of recs, rescues, and front page invites. I've driven a lot of eyeballs to this site, as well. In all that time I have never gotten, nor expected, any royalty checks from Markos. Heck, I never even got a thank you. But that's OK. That isn't why I was writing here. I did it because I believed this was more than a blog. It was an online community. Sort of like a cross between Usenet and The WELL.
In any event, I also learned a lot from folks here. One of those people who wrote interesting, thought provoking stuff you would not likely find elsewhere was webranding. Now I don't know what led to the current situation -- and frankly I don't need to know. This is not my sandbox;I don't make the rules. On occasion, I have bumped up against the house rules and folks (read "admins") have brought this to my attention when they felt it necessary. I always felt I was dealt with fairly, even if I disagreed with the decision rendered. But as I said, this is not my sandbox; I don't make the rules.
Having said that, I think it is only fair to offer a fellow who has always struck me as being on the up and up an opportunity to put his side of things forward if he is so inclined. As another Kossack commonly says:
"The Floor is Yours...."
