In a recent interview, Willard “Mitt” Romney reflected on his failed Presidential campaign. As already pointed out in another diary, he was delusional in saying that Obama somehow “outspent” him and he regretted his “47%” comments …
Romney gave one of his most despicable quotes ever -- and something, I think, that’s a deep insight into how he (and much of the GOP) sees the world:
"I wish the hurricane hadn't happened when it did because it gave the president a chance to look presidential."

The emphasis is this part: “… when it did because it gave the president a chance to look presidential.”
You would think that Romney would wish the hurricane had not happened at all … Even if you give him the benefit of the doubt and consider the quote in the context of talking about the dynamics of the Presidential race, he could have said that he wished hurricane Sandy had not happened because so many people were killed or hurt, communities destroyed, etc. … and, in the political context, could have acknowledged that it also hurt him politically (although, ofcourse, that’s pretty much bs on its face, as Romney would have handily lost regardless) … but, no, Romney doesn’t think that way, and, in fact, tells us what he really feels …
Basically, he laments only Sandy’s timing, and the hurricane’s effect on his campaign … To me, this is just another insight into the coldness within and all I can think is -- thank God this man is not sitting in the White House.
