What a news week! As you'd expect, we saw quite a few stories fly in the social media world. Although they might be different than you'd expect ... head below the orange puff to see what Daily Kos stories really spiked traffic for the week of 6/24 to 6/30.
FACEBOOK:
As always, if a cell's highlighted orange, it was written by a front pager.
Okay, so it's pretty obvious here that Jen Hayden reigned this week as the Facebook Queen: The top three stories were hers. Woohoo! This was so impressive that Sarah Palin did a celebratory dance in her honor.
Almost two thirds of the stories that shared like crazy on Facebook this week were written by front pagers, which is a high ratio if you compare to previous weeks. I was happy to see GunFAIL made the list this week.
But you know what the nuttiest part is? Despite all the amazingness exhibited in the table above, Facebook wasn't our number one traffic referrer this week. See what story really took the cake this week in the table below.
REDDIT:
James321's diary was all ablaze on Reddit this week, and also charted on Facebook. Do you see the number of pageviews that baby had? Daaayum.
Also, another flash from the past: The #5 spot this week is a 6-year-old diary from a user who hasn't even commented since 2012. You just never know what's going pop back up via Reddit, do ya?
And last but not least ...
TWITTER:
Following the trends, the majority of Twitter shares tend to be front page stories. Congrats to spudlvr for charting in the top 5 for two weeks in a row!
If you're a social mediate, be sure to give Daily Kos some love on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and/or Google Plus. And remember that sharing a story on the interwebs is just one more way of saying "you're awesome" to your fellow community members besides the usual tips and recs.
