It's Friday again! Hard to believe that this summer is going so fast!
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
Ok, we have a (mostly) finished diary schedule. If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.
Monday: BadKitties
Tuesday: bigjacbigjacbigjac
Wednesday: Caedy
Thursday: weck
Friday: FloridaSNMOM
Saturday:broths
Sunday: loggersbrat
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
This is a community Diary whose purpose is well stated. Trolls will not be tolerated. They will be eaten, fed to the 3 Billy Goats Gruff, or referred to the Wild Hunt depending on the taste of the Diarist. If you don't like community diaries or the subject matter, don't read it. Thank you.
So today I thought I'd share with you some pictures. It's been a long week, and we should be getting our new assistance pup some time in the next 24 to 48 hours. But I don't know if she'll be here and I'll have pics enough in time to get a diary up this week. So I'll introduce Morgaine next week. Today we've been playing with Sophie, and the kids have worn her out. So she decided to take some down time on her quilt, just relaxing with her toys.
This is what it looks like before they start playing, once I've done sweeping the floor. It doesn't stay that way for long however.
Mommy repaired (again) the new Giraffe toy while she was playing with the kids, so of course she had to reconquer it! Yes, those are socks, tied in knots. Sophie has decided that all of Dad's white socks are really her toys. His black ones she leaves alone. So it's black socks for Dad from now on, and I'll replace the white ones as she destroys these. They're great for tug of war and 'chase the rat' games with the kids though!
She really loves her quilt (that coordinates with mine!)! If Freya tries to lay on it, Sophie will try to shove her off, which is hilarious! Unfortunately, I haven't managed to get any pics of that yet.
We're looking at a rainy weekend, but so far the tropical system hasn't made it up to full storm level. Rain we can deal with. It just means taking the dogs out the carport door instead of the front door because the front door turns into a big mud puddle! It also means extra mowing for the kids next week because the grass will grow exponentially as soon as the sun comes back out.
So what are your plans for the weekend?
