JUST SAY NO TO STAND YOUR GROUND.LAWS....GOOD LAW ENFORCEMENT ..NO ABUSE....GOOD OLD FASHION POLICE PROCEDURES WORK !

The news this morning is pretty rough in Inverness, Florida this morning. I love my town. I love how residents and officals have common sense. They know about SYG and by every sense of the word had reason to use that law or tasers or guns but chose not to. I praise out local sheriff's dept who is a democrat and all round good guy with a good bunch in his administrations.
I appreciate our school board, another democrat who works on behalf of our students to make things work here. Sam Himmell is another dem who is the superintendent and makes frequent trips to Tallahassee to lobby for our children.
Yesterday morning something happened in Inverness and was handled correctly by all involved in my opinion. This hits me close to home literally as there are two places I frequent more than others.. The Circle K and CVS. I do business in these stores for a variety of reasons but have been a CVS customer all the way back to Revco days. I stopped for coffee this morning and glanced at the paper to find out that my gut feeling Sunday morning was a There but by the grace of God go I moment in what was a horrific scene.
On Saturday night, I normally, wanting sugar with my coffee in the mornings, would slip on my sandals and grab my wallet and run down to CVS, less than a mile away. The only store open for milk and sugar other than a convienent store or Walgreens. Walmart is 6 miles away and I don't do Walmart. The sugar and milk is cheaper at CVS with my extra care card and it is so close. I talk to the pharmacists and the store personnel as I know them all by frequenting there so much. Sat night was different for some reason. I did not want to go to the store. I even didn't want my son or anyone else to go.. I just shrugged it off and said, " Well we will do without till I take Chicklet and me to church the morning. My husband said, " Want me to go"? Heavens no...He has a hard enough time just moving around, much less driving.
I shook my head no. My son said, " Well I'll go. We need milk and sugar".. I said , NO and almost combative with the NO. I said this family cannot wait till morning for a little sugar and milk, well thats pitiful. End of month, Save some gas please !!! It's not like we have gas to be running and up and down the roads. They looked like I was just hell bent on not going to a place I go at the drop of a hat. I love to get out of the house but like that cartoon, there was someone wrong on the internet and I was debating about it.
Here is what happened and handled correctly by law enforcement and no body died.
INVERNESS, Fla. - A Virginia man who jumped a counter and allegedly attacked a pharmacy employee at an Inverness CVS stabbed the employee and two others before they were able to subdue him.
According to Citrus County Sheriff's Office arrest report, Jacob C. Kleintank, 31, of Alexandria, Va., had entered the CVS at 602 W. Main St. numerous times throughout the night in an attempt to obtain drugs from the pharmacy, before returning and attacking the employees early Sunday morning.
The pharmacy employee was stabbed multiple times as he put up his hands to protect his chest. The other employees in the store at the time ran to help the employee and were stabbed during the struggle. All three victims survived the attack.
The other employees grabbed Kleintank and told the deputy they were stabbed as he began flailing his arms during the struggle.
In the affidavit, Mullins said he entered the front of the store as he responded to the report of a stabbing and saw no one in the store. Mullins yelled and heard someone yell back, "I'm back here."
He ran to the pharmacy area and saw Kleintank with the three stabbing victims holding him down on the ground.
The deputy said Kleintank still had a silver-colored two-inch knife with a camouflaged handle in his right hand.
The deputy said he pried his fingers off the knife and put him into handcuffs
.
When the deputy looked up, he saw all three victims had been stabbed.
The first employee Kleintank allegedly attacked was taken to Citrus Memorial Hospital.
The second employee had been stabbed in the lower left abdomen and was airlifted to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
The third victim had been stabbed under an armpit, but was treated at the scene and released.
Deputies located Kleintank's rental car, backed into a parking space and still running.
Kleintank has been arrested on three counts of intentional aggravated battery and one count of robbery with a weapon.
Mullins requested Kleintank be held without bond because of the alleged crime and the fact that he is visiting from outside the state.

Wow ! Catch that
Three people stabbed and no excessive force...and all ended well... Wow that is how it is supposed to work.
This good police work happening in the State of Florida? Yep and glad I live here in this one corner of sanity of how local government gets it right more often than not. They even welcomed out little occupy movement to the point people didn't have much to protest about except to stand in soladarity back last year.
By the way I am glad someone convinced me to keep debating so I was pretty preocuppied enough not to witness all this and it would not be unusual at all for me to be there at midnight . This family makes midnight runs all the time and usually the stopping spot is CVS. Congratulations to our local Sheriff's dept with a job well done !
Hoping for my friends at CVS to recover soon !!!! Glad the attacker will live to face charges for this outrage and he should be happy no one in this neck of the woods depended on the Stand Your Ground law...People survive without it.
I especially liked the way the local paper reported this incident when it said..Bond set..
NONE.

Elections are important and local elections can determine your quality of life !!!
This one incident should stand as a model to do away with Stand your Ground laws !
