Hope everybody had a great summer... not that it's over yet or anything. Those of you who weren't able to come way out to Kane County for our Kossacks day at the ol' ballgame missed some fun and the chance to meet some new people and we sure did miss you!
Not to despair, though, because we are getting geared up for another very special get-together. We've been trying to spread our events out all over the metro area and this one should be a good chance for our friends in the northwestern reaches to see what a great time can be had by meeting fellow Kossacks in real time! Of course, there will be people going out from the city, too, and the first three people who want a ride should let me know.
We will be gathering around the main entrance around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 15th. The Grand Entrance is at noon and is not to be missed! If you've never been to a Powwow you really should try to make this one. It's a great experience for children, too. And who doesn't like fry bread and Indian tacos?
The AIC's special Powwow Facebook page is right here and has maps, ticket prices, and all the other logistics you might need.
This year the American Indian Center is celebrating it's 60th year of serving the native community in Chicago by providing fellowship and aid andby fostering understanding between natives and non-natives. They are the oldest urban Indian Center in the country. Let's help them celebrate!!
You definitely want to be wearing one of these on September 15th.
RSVPs can be made by commenting right here in this diary or by sending a kos mail to me and/or broths. We are FIRED UP about this one!
Who's coming???
