When Fox News commissioned a poll Sept. 6-9 on whether people liked the Affordable Care Act -- and if they liked Obamacare, hilarity ensued.
It turns out that Republican support for the Affordable Care Act is 57 percent greater than it is for Obamacare.
These guys are on top of this issue, needless to say.
Meanwhile, Democrats barely budged on the two questions, apparently being reasonably informed. Support for the Affordable Care Act jumped only 1 percentage point.
The survey was apparently conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw &
Company Research (R). The poll was conducted by telephone with live interviewers September 6-8, 2013,
among a random national sample of 900 registered voters
First off, thanks to the folks at TPM.
TPM:
Republicans like the 2010 health care law better when it's called by its proper name -- the Affordable Care Act -- instead of Obamacare, according to a new Fox News poll.
OK, so when Republicans were asked their opinion about Obamacare, 12 percent said they had either a very favorable or somewhat favorable view.
But the Affordable Care Act? Now that's another story ...
Republicans
Very favorable view of Obamacare: 3 percent
Very favorable view of Affordable Care Act: 6 percent
Somewhat favorable view of Obamacare: 11 percent
Somewhat favorable view of Affordable Care Act: 16 percent
Democrats, meanwhile, apparently understood that the two are one in the same.
Democrats
Very favorable view of Obamacare: 32 percent
Very favorable view of Affordable Care Act: 32 percent
Somewhat favorable view of Obamacare: 27 percent
Somewhat favorable view of Affordable Care Act: 28 percent
Moral of the story:
Just tell the Tea Party it is Palincare. They will love it
