This is a true exchange between my 10 year old twins and I over the weekend.
I hope you all find it as entertaining as I did:
We were all playing in the living room while watching MSNBC (or I thought I was the only one watching MSNBC).
MSNBC was reporting on the budget showdown and showing stock footage of Senator Ted Cruz.
My 10 year old son: Hey Dad, who is that guy?
Me: That's Senator Ted Cruz
My 10 year old son: Really? (he nudges his sister). That's the guy who sings "Dynamite!"
My 10 year old daughter: That's the guy who sings "Dynamite?" Cool! Is he going to sing it now?
Me: We should be so lucky!
(end of the exchange)
For those of you - like me - who are not in the know: A gentleman named Taio Cruz sings a song called "Dynamite," which is a huge pop hit.
And, my children are very wise. We would all be lucky if Taio Cruz was, indeed, in the US Senate instead of Ted Cruz. The performance would be better - to say the least!
