Why didn't Rand Paul sign his unemployed adult son, who is the under 25 year old college student who was charged with assaulting a female flight attendent last year, up with the rest of Rand Paul's family on the DC Exchange in December?
December 5, 2013
Kentucky newspapers reported Rand Paul signed up for ACA in the DC Exchange. (The only way members of Congress get subsidies for themselves was by signing up with the DC Exchange.)
January 5, 2014,
Rand Paul tells half-brain George Stephanopoulos that he signed up his unemployed son, separate from his family's DC Exchange, in the Kentucky Exchange -- Then Rand Paul blames ACA for enrolling his son in "medicaid."
Never mind that it is Rand Paul's screw up that caused his unemployed adult son to be placed in "Medicaid."
So ... why didn't Rand Paul sign his adult son up with the rest of Rand Paul's family on the DC Exchange?
hmmm ... is it because Rand Paul was too stupid to sign his son up with the rest of his family on the DC Exchange?
or ... is it because Rand Paul knew that if he signed his adult, unemployed son up on the Kentucky exchange, separate from the family sign-up, that his son would be deemed so far below the poverty line that he would be signed up with "Medicaid."
December 5, 2013 - Kentucky Newspaper Reports

STEPHANOPOULOS: -- and that you're not even sure your family is covered?
PAUL: At this point, I'm unsure. And the other day, I actually tried to get my son signed up through the Kentucky exchange, you know, that the Democrats have said is so good. And I have here my son's Medicaid card.
We didn't try to get him Medicaid, I'm trying to pay for his insurance. But they automatically enrolled him in Medicaid. For a month, they wouldn't talk to us because they said they weren't sure he existed. He had to go down to the welfare office, prove his existence.
Then the next thing we know, we get a Medicaid card.
So, really, most of the people in Kentucky are automatically being enrolled in Medicaid. I'm trying to pay for insurance and can't pay for it. And I'm uncertain now whether I'm enrolled DC and/or Kentucky. And it's a mess.
I keep getting an error code every time I go in. It will not let me edit my policy to try to make sure that my family is covered.
So, no, I think it's really -- this is an unfolding disaster that I don't think gets better any time soon.
STEPHANOPOULOS: A final question. I want to get you on the record on immigration.

I don't know who is dumber, Rand Paul or George Stepahnopoulos?
First:
If Rand Paul had not been so stupid as to eliminate his own under 25 year old son from his family coverage when he signed his family up in the DC exchange, then, his son would not have had to "prove his existence."
Second:
Why was Rand Paul so stupid that he did not know that when he signed up his unemployed, son for KY exchange -- as being independent from his families DC Exchange -- he would be issued "Medicaid" since he is clearly well below poverty line?
Third:
Why doesn't Rand Paul pick up his telephone and call the insurance provider that he signed up with and ask them if his family is covered?
Fourth:
George should have asked Rand Paul: "why didn't you (Rand Paul) sign your adult son up with the rest of your family on the DC Exchange in December so as to avoid all the confusion you (Rand Paul) created?"
But George didn't ask, it was as if George had no clue Rand Paul had signed up the other half of his family on the DC exchange 30 days ago.
In December I suspected Rand Paul signed up in DC exchange as that is the only way Rand Paul could mooch more from the US Taxpayer and get healthcare subsidies for himself. The CAO factsheet (pdf) states that the only way members of Congress get subsidies for themselves is by signing up with the DC Exchange
"All Members of Congress, including representatives of U.S. Territories, and their designated staff will be required to purchase health insurance via the DC SHOP in order to receive a Government contribution"
~CAO Factsheet
Anyway, if Rand Paul was so dumb he signed up himself, his wife & other kids in DC Exchange and his one son in Kentucky Exchange then he has himself to blame for his screw up
... but ... in typical "blame the other guy" Rand Paul form, he is lying and blaming ACA for his screw up.
