Normally, my diaries about jokers like Ted Cruz, Chris Christie, or Reince Priebus, but this one is about something completely different: A new iPhone app I've written called
Superburst Camera that is the fastest rapid fire camera on the App Store. As some of you probably remember, this isn't my first app—last spring I published an app called SnapStill for grabbing photos from video. And if you liked that one, I think you'll really love this one.
It works a lot like the burst mode in iPhone 5s—you hold down the shutter button for as long as you want to take photos and the iPhone keeps snapping away as fast as it can go. The difference is that Superburst is much faster, it works on all iOS 7 devices, and it also lets you pick different resolutions and capture modes, letting you snap up to 120 photos per second on iPhone 5s and 60 per second on iPhone 5 and 5c.
So, what's it good for? Well, you can capture some pretty funny moments. Like this one, when Kami the kitten winked at me:
Don't worry, Kami is fine. Her eye isn't stuck shut or anything like that. She just happened to wander by and wink at me while I was writing and testing code. And I got lucky and caught her imitating Sarah Palin. (Okay, that's mean. I apologize, Kami. You weren't even born yet when Sarah Palin was still an actual thing.)
If this sounds like the kind of thing you might be interested in, you can read more details about what it does on the App Store or check out screenshots here. Better yet, just go ahead and download it now because it's 100% free until Saturday.
Once Saturday rolls around, I'm planning on returning the price to $2.99, but if you don't see this diary until after then, drop me a message and I will get you a promo code so you can get your copy for free. And don't worry, I'm not going to make a habit out of blogging about my apps, but I have a ton of fun making them (for me, it's as addictive as a good video game) and wanted to share the news about my latest one. If you get a chance to check it out, I hope you enjoy it! And don't be shy about asking me for a promo code for a free copy if you don't see this diary until the price goes up!
