Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's campaign produced a bizarre campaign web video last week—in an obvious attempt to make the odious Republican look human and likable. It was over two minutes of stock video footage, with no words.
At the Daily Show, Jon Stewart wasted no time lampooning it—and gave his fans a challenge: Create your own soundtrack to the video, and hashtag it #mcconnelling.
YouTube is now ablaze with #mcconnelling videos, but here's the best one by far.
Why? Back in the 1990's, Common Cause dubbed Mitch McConnell the "Darth Vader of campaign finance reform" for his ferocious defense of soft money and corporate spending.
It's about time someone brought back that analogy. Let's hope it sticks.
